Ingredients

  • 1 pound Asparagus, Snap off tough ends
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 sprinkle lemon juice

Method

1. Adjust the oven rack to 6 inches from the broiler element and heat the broiler. Toss the asparagus with the oil (I use a plastic bag) and sprinkle with salt and pepper (don't over salt). Lay the spears in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet (I cover with foil).
2. Broil the asparagus, shaking the pan occasionally, until they are tender and lightly browned, about 10 minutes, Sprinkle with lemon juice before serving,

Notes

You can server fresh from the oven, at room temp, or chilled. To ensure even cooking, choose spears that are roughly 1/2 inch thick.
